TAKING OUR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES SERIOUSLY
We might be big, but we still have a conscience. We take our responsibilities seriously and focus our efforts on four main areas:People, Environment, Charity, Wastage.
Our people
Without our people we are nothing. Without our 22,000 staff members, we cannot provide the level of service our clients expect.
We run an honest, open, and fair business. We provide our staff with opportunities to develop their abilities and where hard work and talent, not back-scratching and prejudice, determines progression. We are proud that our working environment is thriving and positive, free of discrimination and poor management.
Our respect for our people extends to our clients and suppliers are well. We look to form mutually beneficial partnerships, where both companies work together long-term enabling each to grow and prosper.
Our environment
Planning for the long-term is something that has become second nature to us, so we understand why protecting the environment is such an important issue. With an average of around 6000 orders a day our trucks cover a lot of miles, so we know we can make a direct impact.
We comply with environmental legislation, and our carbon emissions are recorded independently on a monthly basis. To reduce our impact, we have introduced LNG vehicles, and focus on educating our drivers to adopt a more fuel-efficient style of driving. Modern technology optimises routing and minimises empty spaces while energy efficient lighting and recycling ensure our warehouses are also low impact – right down to our proud boast that 0% of waste food and drink ends up in landfill.

Supporting charities
We are committed supporters of charity organisations across the UK and we do what we can as a large organisation to support charity initiatives on a national and local level.
Our employees, as well as clients and suppliers, all take part in fundraising activities on behalf of charities. Some activities have been fun, some have been poignant, some have been frankly downright bonkers, but all have been extremely well-supported and memorable.
Our wastage
As a food and drink logistics company there is naturally a degree of wastage, but we have taken steps to tackle this by partnering with FareShare. This fantastic organisation supplies over 1700 charities and community ventures across the UK with surplus food and drink, vastly reducing the amount wasted and ensuring that some of the most vulnerable in society can access nutritious meals.
We are fully committed to reducing inefficiencies in our supply chains and invite all our clients to contact FareShare to see how you can tackle food waste directly.
